Recognised Prior Learning

Many experienced glazing professionals do not have a formal qualification but do have the relevant skills and experience to meet the Certificate III Glass and Glazing competencies. To obtain a formal Certificate III qualification individuals can undergo a ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ or ‘RPL’ process that is run by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This process will assess their skills and identify any areas that require further training and/or request information to demonstrate competency. Based on this assessment and potentially some additional training a Certificate III Glass and Glazing can be awarded.

The time to go through the RPL process will vary and will be based on the applicant and the RTO offering the service. The AGGA is working closely with a number of RTOs to develop and promote this service to our members.
